Meet The Team:  Ian Jones, Territory Chemical Sales Manager – Northern Region

“When you’ve been fascinated with car washes since you were a kid, and the only jobs you’ve ever had are in the industry, you could say it’s in the blood,” proclaimed Ian Jones, now a Howco Territory Chemical Sales Manager for the Northern region, which includes all or parts of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and West Virginia. 

Jones grew up in Greensboro, NC, and graduated from High Point Christian Academy. His car wash career began at age 16, and over the years, he worked his way into management and gained experience at three different national car wash chains. Jones attended UNC-Wilmington before deciding to move to the supplier side of the industry by joining Howco in May 2025. 

“From loving visits to the car wash as a child, to learning the inside of the business through management at three significant chains, I’ve always been captivated by this industry,” Jones continued. “When Howco Chemical Sales Manager Chipper New approached me with this opportunity, I was ecstatic but took some time to weigh the big change and required move. Chipper continued to encourage me to take the leap, so I did and haven’t looked back. 

“I’m really excited to be working with the great team and customers at this wonderful, historic industry force. I have a passion for helping others, particularly the challenge of making a customer’s car wash perform better via its chemical program. I find the chemical aspect endlessly intriguing with its unique and complex equations for solving problems and enhancing washes, in addition to the ever-evolving technology,” concluded Jones. 

Jones is based in Sterling, Virginia, and enjoys playing tennis and pickleball in his spare time. But his other true automotive love outside of car washing is his 2012 Mercedes E350 convertible, which he claims he will keep forever.
